Religion on Communication Interventions to Establish Environmental Awareness Among Students of St. Bridget College, Batangas City
    ( 2018) Abacan, Lea B.
All faiths around the world share a common ethic over nature based on harmony although there is a wide gap between the religious texts and the current practices of religion. People’s negative attitude towards the environment can be attributed to the popular misconceptions about the influence of religious beliefs on environmental awareness and bridge inconsistencies other than communication. Communication roles are also invaluable in establishing awareness for improved coordination and teamwork to manage any developmental issues in the environment. Religion as a communication intervention is central to this task in many ways. This study aims to determine the role of religion as communication intervention to establish environmental awareness among students of St. Bridget College. It employed descriptive research design which uses survey as the main data gathering instrument. Through the methods used, the study was able to determine the distinct role that religion plays as a communication intervention in establishing environmental awareness among students of St. Bridget College and the extent of implementation of the communication strategies employed by the implementers of the environmental initiatives to gather participation among respondents. Findings revealed that religion plays a decisive role as communication intervention in promoting environmental awareness in terms of both in-campus and off-campus education and activities.
