Effective leadership empowering behavior is one of the common factors that are considered to be influencing a staff's organizational commitment. Addressing issues on these variables will improve the organization on different aspects like quality of care, patient satisfaction, financial stability etc. This study aimed to determine the perceived leadership empowering behaviors and organizational commitment among nursing staff of a district hospital in Laguna, Philippines and identify the correlation between these two variables. Also, this study intended to know if certain demographic profiles like age, length of experience and area of assignment have a relationship to staff's organizational commitment. This study utilized Descriptive Correlational research design. Data were collected through google forms and measured variables using tools such as Leadership Empowering Behaviours Questionnaire (LEB) by Lee Konczak and Organization Commitment Questionnaire (OCQ) by Allen and Meyers. Reliability and validity testing were done on the used tools to 15 nursing staff that were not part of the actual study. Participants of this study were selected using Total Population Sampling in Dr. Jose P. Rizal Memorial District Hospital. Collected data were evaluated using overall mean, standard deviation, spearman's correlation and chi-square test. It was identified in this study that the respondents slightly agreed - agreed that their administrators have a good leadership empowering behavior. The organization commitment of the respondents in all dimensions are above the average mean of the scale used. A significant relationship between leadership empowering behaviors and organizational commitment specifically affective and normative was identified. There is no significant relationship identified between organizational commitment and demographic profiles such as age, length of experience and area of assignment.
