Mainspring Books Smart Financial Management System (MBSFMS)

Abstract

MainSpring Books is a Book publishing company located in Salinas Drive, Lahug, Cebu City that offer services that give life to every author’s manuscript. The company provides publishing services, online marketing and editing services toauthors. As the company grows, it is difficult for them to track their financial status due to manual accounting. Manual accounting involves the recording of their business’ financial information and transactions, in which orders, invoices, expenses, and bankreconciliation are maintained using Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets to store, classify and analyze financial transactions of the company [1]. This project introduces a system to the company that converts their manual accounting process to a centralized financial management system. The system is developed to improve their accounting process to a faster, efficient and accurate account reporting. The Agile Method is the method used by the researchers in order to properly manage the activities and system functionalities.
