Abstract
This project focuses on the development of an Online Grade System (eGradesWeb) for San Jose Catholic School of Iloilo City Philippines. eGradesWeb is an MVC web-based information system implemented on three-tier client/server architecture. The teacher creates and computes the grades of the student and submits to the registrar (Asst. Principal, Principal or Dean) for checking and approval. Upon approval, the grades will be returned to the adviser. The advises then records the grades in the compiled grade sheets as well as in the student report card. A system that allows the teacher to create the grades online and registrar checks it instantly is a perfect solution, The eGradeWeb will be helpful to teachers and registrars especially in terms of accuracy, ease and report generation. Students and parents can view their grades anywhere and anytime thru the internet. The researcher developed the system by using the SDLC and the RAD Methodology. And new technology such as ASP.NET MVC Framework and ASP.NET MVC Controls, bt Telerik for rich UI experience, database engine runs in MS SQL Server Express 2008 SP1, a free database engine offered by Microsoft. The web application runs in MS Internet Information and Services (IIS) webserver. Testing and debugging was done to make the system fully functional and simulated in different web browsers to test compatibility in terms of interface and back end.
