Development of A Dynamic Web-Based Information System for the Christian and Missionary Alliance Churches of the Philippines, Inc.

Abstract

The project is a web-based information system for the Christian and Missionary Alliance Churches of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMACOP) denomination. The system was designed and developed to meet the information needs of CAMACOP members. A standard reference for local churches was first developed to eliminate the duplication of data and facilitated the development of the online tools. Four online tools were developed and designed using PHP language and MySQL as the database management system. The CAMACOP Locator provided quick reference to information about churches, workers, missionaries, church planting ministries and other ministries of CAMACOP. The CAMACOP Statistics provided information about the numerical status of churches and missionaries. The MyGivings Online allowed churches and districts to view anytime their contributions to the CAMACOP fund. The CAMACOP Archive provided a storehouse and retrieval facility to view missionaries’ activities and prayer requests and to locate specific CAMACOP policies and guidelines. A matrix of resources was formulated to determine how the four modules were related to the ministries of the denomination. Search results promoted the efficient use of available resources and easy access to information.
