Abstract
The project aimed to develop an online booking and income monitoring system for Johann’s Cuisine Catering Services. The online system aims to enhance the manual system of a catering business in order to have an effective and efficient way to book catering services, monitor an income, and generate a timely income statement.
Johann’s Cuisine is one of the leading establishments in Ozamis City that provides catering services. As a catering business, they accept booking and payments from their customers, and monitor their income to identify if the business is losing or gaining revenues. The business has encountered issues and problems in the manual process that the only system intended to resolve.
XHTML, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, and WordPress were the major technologies used in developing the online system. Rapid Application Development approach was utilized in the development of the system wherein the business requirements were identified and gathered through questionnaires and interviews form the user. The business system was represented through Business Process Models, the data collected together with the processes were illustrated using Data Flow Diagrams, its definition were tabulated in Data Dictionaries, and the processes were described using Decision Tables, and related literature were reviews for reference. Functional and non-functional requirements, as well as the operational concepts were specified for the system requirements.
After testing, the system was able to meet the business needs and requirements of the used and was deployed and used as an online system for a catering business.
