Camarines Sur National High School Senior High School Scheduling System

Abstract

Preparing a class schedule in any school is one of the most important tasks especially before the opening of classes. A well-prepared plan will dictate whether there will be favorable matching between sections and teachers or if conflict(s) will occur. As such, this is given utmost importance by the academic institution's faculty members. The Camarines Sur National High School (CSNHS) is the biggest secondary school in the Bicol Region that implements Senior High School since 2016 with seventy two (72) sections. Schedule preparation is done manually using the word processing and spreadsheet, which sometimes results to conflicts between teachers and students due to the nature of the process itself and the tools being employed. The CSNHS Senior High School Scheduling System (CSNHS-SHSSS) resolved this issue by automating the schedule preparation of different sections of CSNHS, which consequently improve the teachers' workload as well. This project is a web based application, which can be accessed by all teachers and other stakeholders via an online internet connection. The project was developed using the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), which will be implemented in five phases. The first and second phases which are the system plan and analysis respectively focused on preliminary investigation and building of the system's logical model. The third and fourth phases, which are the system design and construction, includes the formation of the system's physical model and development. Lastly, the system evaluation and security, SDLC's final phase, evaluated the system's functionality according to the specification recommended by the system stakeholders.
