Abstract
The radio farm program of the Department of Agriculture-7 had been employed as a communication strategy in the transfer of agricultural technology. It was designed to teach the farmer-listeners, using radio, the agricultural technologies which can help them increase their farm production and income. The study aimed to assess the radio farm program of the DA-7 over DyMR as perceived by its farmer-listeners of Bunga, Toledo City, during calendar year 2005. Specifically, the study sought to: 1) determine the demographic and socio-economic profile of the farmer-listeners; 2) determine the farmer-listeners' level of skills acquired as to knowledge, attitude, and practice; 3) assess whether the program answer the needs of the farmer-listeners in increasing farm productivity; 4) find out the technology adopted by the farmer-listeners; 5) determine the extent of perceptions of farmer-listeners along, intent to continue listening the program, consideration of the radio farm program in deciding on agricultural production activities, frequency of listening, and overall perception of the program; and 6) find out the problems encountered by the farmer-listeners relative to program listening. The survey research design was used in the study. The researcher-made questionnaire was primarily used in gathering the primary data. The survey instrument was personally conducted by the researcher to the selected farmer-listeners of Bunga, Toledo City, Cebu.
