Southern Luzon State University Online Student Portal

Abstract

Manual operation of student related services like pre-enrollment, accounts receivable and grades require so much time and costs. Students are also required to be on campus during business hours to process their transactions. The student portal provides students the access to their personal information, class schedules, accounts receivable and grades online.

The Southern Luzon State University Online Student Portal is a web-based information system that specifically aims to allow students to access their academic status and personal profile using the Internet. It will also provide security for students’ data and transactions and address the needs of students with speed and comfort.

As the premiere institution of higher learning in the province of Quezon SLSU envisions the application of ICT to achieve innovations and breakthroughs in the process of pursuing its mandate to serve the interest of the public. This project used the Rapid Application Development that is a software development methodology that uses minimal planning in favor of rapid prototyping. It allows software to be written much faster and makes it easier to change requirements.

The system is evaluated in terms of functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability and portability based from the six qualifications of ISO 9126.
