Automation of Barangay Transactions in Iba, Zambales

Abstract

The project was entitled “AUTOMATION OF BARANGAY TRANSACTION IN IBA, ZAMBALES.”

The project focused on the analysis of the current procedures (may either be manual or already computer-aided) employed by each of the 14 barangays and it aimed at identifying problems that existed.

The following are the most common problems identified as existing in the current procedures employed by the 14 barangays in Iba, Zambales in facilitating transaction in their respective offices: 1. Susceptibility of data to being lost, damaged, corrupted or tampered with; 2. Exertion of too much effort in accomplishing tasks; 3. Taking a lot of time to accomplish tasks; 4. Redundancy of data; 5. And, inconsistency and errors in data or information.

The project also included the conceptualization and development of a computer-based system of operation that could serve as a solution to the problems being encountered in the current procedures employed by the different barangays and provide an alternative system of operations that is more efficient and reliable.
