dc.description.abstract This study aims to explore nurses’ perspectives on patient safety culture and leadership. Specifically, it investigates the relationship between leadership effectiveness and healthcare performance, as well as how leadership influence overall performance. The study recruited 119 nurses recruited of which 62 completed the survey and 9 were in leadership positions. Manchester Patient Safety Culture Assessment Tool (MaPSCAT) was used to assess safety culture across ten dimensions and Leadership Effectiveness scale to gauge leadership perception and its impact to healthcare performance. A descriptive correlational quantitative research design was employed. This study offers insights into nurses' perceptions of safety culture and their views on leadership. Furthermore, this study reflects that effective leadership significantly influences patient safety culture and nurturing leaders is essential for delivering safe and quality care, with various leadership styles available. Recommendations includes policymakers and hospital nursing leaders embracing tools and initiatives like the Just Culture program to raise awareness of safety culture. Additionally, nursing leaders should cultivate a supportive environment that significantly influences the delivery of safe nursing care by enhancing teamwork and collaboration, fostering effective communication, fostering a non-punitive workplace atmosphere, and investing in the development of future nurse leaders through leadership training programs.
