Online Resume System (ORSYS)

Abstract

Internet is around us all over the world. People are being connected from the confines of their homes to the office and practically from anywhere using mobile devices to wherever they want to connect to thru wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi). There is a gamut of web applications available today and some are still being developed even at the time of this writing practically not only to automate business processes but to make data and applications accessible and available over the internet thru Wide Area Networks (WAN), Extranets, Virtual Private Networks (VPN), etc. using different technologies and protocols such as File Transfer Protocol (FTP), HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP), etc.

Corporate enterprises and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) alike have showcased their business presence in the internet thru their corporate websites. Online services like email, search engines, shopping cart, auction sites, etc. have grown exponentially as well.

The emergence of the online services of job search engines like JobsDB, JobStreet among others made job matching very easy and favorable to both employers who are seeking manpower requirements and to applicants as well in terms of job hunting.

Majority of corporations have used one of these sites one way or the other to fill-up a gap in their current organizational structure. Human Resources Departments (HRD) of most companies are using both the print media and the online services of these job search engines. Although, some big corporations like IBM, HP, etc. have developed their own recruitment site placed in the careers section of their websites, still utilize the services of these giant job search engines.

The Online Resumé System (ORSYS) for the AFP-Retirement and Separation Benefits System (AFPRSBS) will serve the same purpose as these job search engines i.e., to provide adequate information to the management and stakeholders for job matching based on certain criteria and job requirements.
