An Interactive Online Alumni Information System for Bicol College

Abstract

Bicol College is one among the pioneering Higher Education institution in the Bicol Region. It was founded in 1941 and is one among of the largest group of Colleges and Universities in the Country. For many years, Bicol College has produced numerous professionals and workers around the country and even abroad.

With the advancement of the internet and technology, the school is adopting these for the sole purpose of its alumni to generate development towards the school and bind the alumni together to act as ambassadors of good faith and assist by any means as possible for the benefit of the school and the community as well.

This project entitles BCAIS: An Interactive On-line Alumni Information System aimed to develop an Alumni Information System for Bicol College that will provide support for the school’s objectives, mission, and vision. The project thus also provides holistic effort to promote the interest, welfare and reputation of the school and to establish a mutual beneficial relationship between the school and its alumni.

The project used an on-line system that will utilize the use of the World Wide Web. The project aimed to develop a systematic and organized recording, filing and registration of Bicol College Alumni. Information will be stored on a database system as an entry point of information for the system. Checking and verification for prospected/registered users will be managed and secured by the School’s alumni office using an account management system that will dynamically recognize registered users. A log-in system will be used and provided for identifying administrators and registered users that will enable them to utilize messaging, profile photo uploads, posting, participate in forum discussions and create or edit their personalized profiles.
