Integrated Information Systems for Enhanced Accounts Management

Abstract

The University Computer Center, an office under the office of the Chancellor of the University of the Philippines Diliman, utilizes an increasing number of information systems to manage the Diliman Network accounts and related services. To improve efficiency and raise productivity, this project integrated several information systems into one enhanced accounts management website.

The new website consolidated the functionalities of several information systems into one with three main (3) modules: (1) accounts management module, (2) mail module, and (3) proxy module. It also enhanced the existing features of these modules. The development was divided into three (3) major phases covering each module.

Through the use of Technology Acceptance Model Theory, the perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use of the integrated system was evaluated to determine if the project achieved it goal. The reported findings show there is a significant relationship between the perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness which affects the attitude of the administrators towards using the new website. There is a strong correlation between perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. Perceived usefulness has stronger correlation compared to perceived ease of use on the attitude toward using. Based on these findings, the goal of the project to integrate and enhance the accounts management is achieved.
