Abstract
This paper introduces Faculty Ranking System for the University of Nueva Caceres (UNC) Colleges as a solution to difficulties normally encountered by the university during faculty ranking. UNC is a premier university located in the city of Naga, Camarines Sur and has one of the biggest student populations in the Bicol region. As the university deals with a big student population, it is very important for them that the number of faculty is of good ration with its students. Thus, the university makes sure to retain its good and well-performing faculty. In order to do this, UNC conducts a re-ranking of faculty every two academic years for reclassification or promotion purposes. It is their way to acknowledge the efforts exerted by their faculty in improving their crafts and growing professionally. Furthermore, ensuring the correctness and timeliness of the results of the ranking process is really important. The Faculty Ranking System for University of Nueva Caceres (UNC) Colleges is a web-based application that allows faculty to create their profile online and upload required evidence for the ranking process easily. Also, the system automatically evaluates the faculty profile, displays the number of points accumulated and most importantly, determines the new rank of the faculty. Moreover, the application provides a way for the school administration to validate the faculty profile before the new rank of the faculty is posted and becomes final. Faculty Ranking System for University of Nueva Caceres (UNC) Colleges was developed by applying the Rapid Acceleration Model and by utilizing HTML5, Javascript, ASP.net MVC5 and MS SQL technologies. The application was initially tested by some faculty from the different colleges of UNC and by members of the school administration especially those working under the Personnel Office.
