Abstract
The Department of Education (DepEd) in Dumagete, is a division composed of eighteen (18) Elementary and seven (7) Secondary Schools and Community Learning Centers for ALS competently managed by visionary leaders and dedicated teachers.
The Vision and Mission of the division primarily focuses on the delivery of basic services to the school children and students who comprise the majority of its clientele. However, the efficient delivery of these services depends on the assistance given by Non-Teaching Personnel who occupies about 10% of the total population of the division.
One of the most important sections in the Division Office is the Human Resource (HR) Management Department. In order to facilitate record-keeping existing personnel, to keep track of employee benefits and to produce accurate reports necessary for the management to give immediate actions on matters concerning the welfare of all employees and for effective planning purposes in maximizing the available human and financial resources.
The project beneficiary of the system in DepEd Dumagete City Division and this will be mainly used by HR personnel and the Administrative Officer. However, other non-teaching personnel in the Division Office can access the system to assist in updating the records or producing the data necessary or accomplishing reports for prompt submission to the regional office.
The development of a system adopted the Prototyping Model with validation and verification.
Free human resource information systems were downloaded from the Internet, studied and deliberated properly to help design the project.
The HRIDS underwent project a proposal hearing under the three (3) banner projects of DepEd Dumaguete City’s project MTS (Maximizing Totality of Skills), a locally funded project of the City Government. The proposed project was presented to the Local School Board during the Budget Hearing and was launched immediately after the budget has been approved.
The accuracy of the reports generated by HRIDS was checked and validated by comparing them with the actual current data generated by the Human Resource Management Department manually.
