Abstract
This study developed a Web-Based Manpower Pooling and Hiring System for Lyceum of the Philippines University – Batangas which is called OLAPP, an acronym for Online Application System. It is designed to easily maintain and monitor the different applications for the preliminary screening phase of faculty recruitment. The OLAPP capabilities include online submission of applications by applicants, online monitoring of the status of a particular application, processing of data such as saving, editing, retrieving, and matching the credentials of the applicant against the qualifications of the needed faculty. The software will then provide a report of all qualified applicants for a particular position.
The data is protected and secured since only authorized personnel can have access to the system and database. To submit an application online, the applicant needs to create an account with a username and password and associate it with a valid email address for confirmation. The applicant will use the registered username and password to verify the status of a particular application. The Human Resource staff will be able to access the system using a valid username and password.
Matching the qualification of a particular applicant against the needed faculty and staff will be used on the keywords that the Human Resource (HR) staff will provide in the system. These keywords will be used to generate a shortlist of qualifies applicants.
The OLAPP would lessen the time and effort spent by HR staff in filing, retrieving and screening the qualifications of the applicant. This will also eliminate the bulky application forms being maintained by the HRMD.
