Abstract
This study was conducted the period: March 2013-May 2015. The main purpose is to develop an environment that could promote capacity building of pre-service teacher training students and in-service teachers for basic education, and to develop a tool envisioned to support them in conducting curriculum planning implementation. It was found out in this study that the prospective users can make use of a curriculum mapping procedure and a real-time working environment that could enable them to prepare and implement contextualized lessons in all the subject areas across the K-12 curriculum beginning at first with sample lessons in Grade 3 Science. The ultimate goal of this study, which is focused on the development of a decision support system through the methodology known as the CommonKADS, was successfully utilized. Using the results of the study, the teachers in the field who are in their in-service training program and the prospective teacher education training programs graduates, will be able to promote the goals of the P21 focused on communications, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking by using the K12 Knowledge System. It is recommended to conduct a case study on the use of the K12 Knowledge System in order to fully utilize and to further improve the system.
