Abstract
This Information System project provides detailed MDF/IDF circuit termination, equipment operating specification, system flow, trouble analysis report, outage report, maintenance, and temporary log to the technical personnel in Manila AFC. The outcome of the project gain advantages to the conventional deployment of which the searching and retrieval of the data is time consuming, as a result of delay in fault findings. The system integrates database and web server technologies manipulated by web application interface using browser agent over secured local area network (LAN) and/or into a wide area network (WAN). Therefore, the information system makes very portable and scalable of information retrieval and updating the circuits in the facility.
The project is relevant to the Manila AFC and related facilities that has a huge system of interconnection. Therefore, the deployment of Technical Facilities Circuits Information System (TFCIS) will facilitate the core facilities of Air Navigation Service in the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP). The office has mandated under Republic Act No. 9497 prescribed in the Civil Aviation Regulation in the country that the Air Navigation Service (ANS) is authorized to establish, operate, maintain and flight check air navigation system and equipment nationwide to provide safe, reliable, expeditious, and efficient services in conformance to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs).
Information systems engineering and methodologies were based on Test Driven Development (TDD) and Pair Programming System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and the undertaken studies will utilize the actual data of the operating circuits.
